As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Manuscripts should be submitted online at the Indian Journal of Physiology and Allied Science website after registering.

The manuscripts should be concise and arranged as follows:

  • Title page - Title, List of authors (Family name, First name), Affiliation(s) of author(s), ORCID of all Authors, Communication details (including email) of corresponding author (*). No other page should contain the names of authors.
  • Abstract page - Title, Abstract (200 words, structured), Keywords (minimum 6), Running title
  • Introduction - Background of the work, updated and relevant review of literatures, hypothesis. 
  • Materials and Methods ( Must include information regarding ethical issues and clearance, if applicable)
  • Results (Data should be presented in SI units, except B.P. which should be expressed in mm Hg.),
  • Discussion,
  • Acknowledgments (Must include the funding information, if applicable),
  • Conflict of Interest (if not applicable mention ‘Nil’),
  • References,
  • Table(s),
  • Figure legend(s), and
  • Figure(s).

References style – Vancouver style with DoI / PubMed ID / Online source.

References in the text should be indicated by numbers in the order of appearance.

Figures and Tables: Should be placed at the appropriate points of the text. In addition, separate files must be uploaded with

  • Photos with good resolution (with 300 DPI).
  • Graphs (preferably in editable format).
  • Tables in text format
